The lawyers of the expelled Jubo Legaue leader of Dhaka City South Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Shamrat said he needs to taken abroad for better treatment.
After visiting Shamrat who is now admitted in National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), Jubo League law secretary and Supreme Court lawyer Afroza Shahnaz Parvin Hira told journalists his physical condition is very bad with severe chest pain.
She said he was supposed to go abroad for installing pacemaker on September 10.
However, he couldn't go for a program to observe Sheikh Hasina's birthday on the following September 14.
“Now taking him abroad for treatment is crucial,” she emphasized.
Shamrat was arrested on October 6 from Kunjashri village under Alkara unioun of Chouddagram upazila in Cumilla in the wake of recent drives against illegal casinos.
Later he was sentenced for six months for possessing a skin of Kangaroo under a Wildlife Preservation law.
On Monday police pleaded for a 20-day remand order from the court as he was shown arrest in two more cases for possessing illegal arms and drugs.
