Awami League general secretary and road transport and bridge minister Obaidul Quader said no crime would be spared as that never had happened in Sheikh Hasina regime.

He was speaking at a press conference held at Awami League Dhanmondi office on Tuesday afternoon.

Referring to the murder of BUET student Abarar as shocking, the minister said that no one can be killed for having a different view.

He said, “five people were arrested within 5 minutes of the incident. Several were expelled.

“There will be exemplary punishment for those who were involved.

“No offender will be spared,” he said.

Reaffirming the ongoing drive against terrorism, corruption and drug would continue, Obaidul Quader said, "the achievements of Awami League or Chhatra League cannot be tarnished by misdeeds by few.”

He said, "We do not say everyone in our party is good. For various reasons, many infiltrated. And Chhatra League is doing good works too."

Criticizing the BNP, Obaidul Quader said there was no evidence that they took any organizational and administrative measures against any criminal in their party. Rather, during their rule, the country was turned into plagued by corruption by creating Hawa Bhaban.

Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretary and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy Publicity Secretary Aminul Islam Amin, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, among others, were present at the press conference.
