Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said BUET can ban student politics if they think they would do that as many educational institutions do not have student politics.
The Prime Minister was speaking at a press conference at Ganabhaban on Wednesday afternoon to share her experiences of on her attending the UN General Assembly and visiting India in recent.
She said now student politics is banned in many educational institutions. It is up to them, BUET can ban student politics if they want.
She said there is a committee in BUET, if they think they can shut down student politics. We will not interfere there.
However, talking about an overall ban on student politics she questioned why student politics would be banned, adding this is what the dictators did.
