Ifti Mosharraf Shokal, one of the accused in Abrar murder case, gave confessional statement in court on Thursday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded the statement and sent the accused to jail.
Ifti Mosharraf is the deputy social welfare secretary of BUET unit of Chhatra League.
Ifti is accused number-5 in the murder case.
Earlier, Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police pleaded for 10-day remand order to question the accused, producing them before the court.
After hearing, the judge ordered for 5-day remand.
Police have arrested 16 so far in connection with beating Fahad Abrar, a second-year student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) at BUET to death in a room of Sher-E Bangla Hall in the university on October 6 last.
