Police have arrested Mazedul Islam, one of the 19 accused in Abrar Fahad murder case, from Shah Kiran area of Sylhet at 4am on Friday (October 11), Additional Deputy Commissioner of the Sylhet Metropolitan Police, Jedan Al Musa, confirmed.
Police recovered Abrar's body from the staircase of the Sher-e-Bangla Hall of BUET in the early hours on Sunday (October 6) last.
A group of Chatra League leaders of BUET Unit allegedly beat Abrar Fahd to death following his Facebook post criticizing deals that were agreed on during the prime minister's recent visit to India.
Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case following the incident.
