Another accused in the BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case – Moaz Abu Huraira has been arrested from Uttara area in the capital.
Public Relations Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said Detective Branch nabbed him around 11am on Saturday (Oct 12) from Uttara’s sector number 14.
The latest arrest has taken the count of arrestees in the case to 19, including 16 named in the first information report (FIR).
Moaz, named as the accused number 14 in the Abrar murder case, is a 17th-batch student of electrical and engineering department of BUET. He hails from Kuliarchar in Kishoreganj district.
Police said Moaz’s involvement in the murder was proved in primary investigation.
Chhatra League leaders and activists of BUET unit allegedly beat Abrar, a second-year student of electrical and electronic engineering department, to death on Oct 7 over a Facebook post.
Abrar’s father filed a case accusing 19 BCL leaders and activists of the murder while the central committee of the student front expelled 11 of them.
