Vice Chancellor (VC) Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) Prof. Saiful Islam has informed that few committees have been formed to bring an end to the on going crisis in Buet.
He said that, 'We have accepted the demands of the students. We have formed a number of committees to solve the remaining problems. I hope that the crisis will be over soon.'
On Monday(Oct.14) after visiting the entry examination centers of Buet the VC told these to the journalists at 11 A.M.
He said that, 'The admission test is being held peacefully and in fair atmosphere. We are working to fulfill the demands of the students. However, there is no impact on the admission seekers. About 90 percent admission seekers have appeared the entry examination.'
The VC informed that the raids will go on to drive out the illegal students from the residential halls
He further said that, 'The students can discuss with me on any matters. I hope that they would cooperate with me. Because we have agreed to meet their demands.'
At this time the guardians sought justice for killing of Abrar. In reply, he said that we are very much sincere to ensure justice for this painful murder. The government has also taken quick measures of this gruesome murder and we all hope there will be fair trial.
