A Dhaka court has placed the expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Shamrat on 10-day remand in two cases of drugs and arms with Ramna police.
Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order after the hearing.
Shamrat was brought to Dhaka CMM court around 11:50 am on Tuesday (October 15).
Earlier on October 9, Ramna Police pleaded a 20-days remand for the cases.
However, his remand hearing could not take place as he was admitted to first Dhaka Medical and later to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases for his chest pain in the meantime.
As there is a legal obligation of producing the accused in the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sarafuzzaman Ansari fixed October 15 for the remand hearing.
On October 7, RAB-1 filed the two cases with Ramna Model Police Station.
Shamrat is now serving a six-month jail term.
