Rab has arrested Goalanda Upazila Jubo League General Secretary Nazrul Islam Mandal at 10pm on Tuesday (October 15).
Confirming the arrest, Faridpur Rab-8 Company Commander Major Hasan said DMF doctor Rezaul Karim Abu, 45, was killed in the clash between the followers of the present and former chairmen of Debgram union centring the triennial council of AL unit of Ward no-2 of the union under the upazila.
The doctor’s father filed a case with Goalanda Ghat police station against 37 including Nazrul as the prime accused.
Rab first detained Nazrul from the Namaz-e-Janaza of Abu for questioning.
Later in the night he was shown arrest.
