The investigation of the cases against arrested and just expelled Dhaka South city president Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Smarat in casino scandal has been given to elite force Rab.
On Wednesday (October 16) evening the investigation of the two cases has been handed over to Rab from DB. The deputy director of Rab Legal and Media wing Major Raisul Azam Moni has confirmed it to barta24.com. So long the cases of drug and arms were being investigated by City DB. During the 10 -day remand of Samrat the case was transferred to Rab.
It may be mentioned here that on last October 7 Rab filed two cases against Samrat. In the FIR of both the cases it was reported that Samrat had casino business at ten clubs of Motijheel, Arambag, Fakirapool and Paltan area. He was known to everybody as ‘casino lord.’
Side by side he was involved in extortion and tender manipulation. If any body did not agree to pay extortion he would have to face tortures by his cadres. Rab recovered illegal arms, drugs and electric shock giving machines from his office.
