State Minister for the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Nasrul Hamid, has said the power sector has drawn investments of 24 billion dollar after from 2016.
He said investments in this sector were 3 billion dollar in the year 2015.
He said now the demand for investments in this sector is fulfilled for now.
However, this sector will more 30 billion dollar of investments in the next days, he also said.
He was speaking at the signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi company ACWA Power at Hotel Intercontinental on Thursday (October 17).
ACWA Power is interested to install gas and LNG based 3000mw power plant in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh has called for a pre-assessment report for that project.
Bangladesh would take further steps following that report.
