Dhaka: Workers party chief and local MP Rahed Khan Menon used to take casino money every month from Dhaka South city Jubo League unit expelled President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat.
This was informed by Samrat in the interrogation of the law enforcers.
On Saturday(October 19) night an officer of Lieutenant Colonel rank of Rab headquarter has confirmed this to barta24.com.
That source informed that Dhaka- 8 constituency MP Rashed Khan Menon used to get the share of casino money conducted by Samrat and Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan. They used to pay Menon Taka 4 lakh every month. Earlier Menon also demanded increased share. At last Menon rebuked them for not enhancing the amount of booty.
The investigating officer of Rab informed that the information of Samrat is being verified. The concerned source informed that during the 10 day remand Samrat has disclosed some important information at the end of third day.
It is to be mentioned here that the influential leader of Jubo League Samrat and his accomplice were arrested on last October 7 by Rab from Chouddagram of Comilla.
Lastly on Tuesday Samrat was taken on remand grant by the court for 10 days for two cases filed for drug and arms.
The first raid against casino and gambling was conducted at Fakirapool Youngman’s club. Local MP and Workers party chief Rashed Khan Menon is the president of the club.
However Rashed Khan MP has been repeatedly denying his involvement with casino. He has been telling the media that he has no connection with club management and casino. He claimed that the post of president of the club is simply ornamental not of any responsibility.
