The High Court Division of the Supreme Court has got nine new additional judges.
President Md Abdul Hamid appointed them for two years under Section 98 of the Constitution.
The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs issued a circular on Sunday (Oct 20) confirming their appointment.
Secretary to the ministry Md Golam Sarwar told Barta24.com that the Supreme Court administration will fix the date for the oath-taking of the new judges.
The new judges are Muhammad Mahbub-ul Islam, Shahed Noor Uddin, Dr Zakir Hossain, Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman, Md Mahmud Hasan Talukder Mintu, Kazi Ebad Hossain, KM Zahid Sarwar Kajal, AKM Zahirul Haque and Kazi Zinat Hoque,
Public Relations Officer of the law ministry Rezaul Karim told Barta24.com that of the nine new judges, four were lower court judges, three deputy attorney generals and two Supreme Court lawyers.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain will administer oath to the new judges.
