The Anti-Corruption Commission has prosecuted former Jubo League leaders Golam Kibria Shamim and Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan for amassing wealth beyond know sources of income.
Deputy Director of ACC’s Public Relations Department Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told Barta24.com that the Commission started cases against them on Monday (Oct 21).
He said Golam Kibria Shamim, better known as GK Shamim, has been sued for amassing wealth worth Tk 2.97 billion (297 crore) and Khaled for Tk 55.5 million (5.58 crore).
Khaled was arrested on Sept 18 from his house for running illegal casinos in the capital while Shamim was nabbed from his office on Sept 20.
