ACC imposes travel ban on 22

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has imposed a ban on 22 persons from traveling abroad as the investigation into the illegal casino business was underway.

Head of ACC’s investigation team Sayed Iqbal Hossain sent a letter to the police super (immigration) of Special Branch (SB) on Wednesday (October 23) with a request of taking all necessary measures to bar them from travelling abroad.

ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said ACC had found evidences of their involvement in money laundering. 

The travel ban has been imposed on  Bhola 3 MP Nurunnabi Chowdhury Shawon, Chattogram-12 MP and whip Shamsul Hoque Chowdhury, Gandaria Thana Awami League vice president Enamul Haque Enu, his brother Gandaria Thana Awami League joint  secretary Rupon Bhuiya, expelled Jubo League  office secretary Kazi Anisur Rahman and his wife Sumi Rahman, arrested Lokman's wife Nabila, former public works department’s chief engineer Md Rafiqul Islam, former additional chief engineer Md Abdul Hai, ward councilor AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed, former NRB Global Bank managing director Prashanta Kumar Haldar, Mominul Haque Sayed's associate Abul Kalam Azad (Azad Rahman), Kakrail Zakir enterprise owner Zakir Hossain and Segunbagicha Shafik Enterprise owner Md Shafikul Islam, added to arrested and expelled Jubo League leader GK Shamim, Khaled Mahmud Bhuyia, Mohammedan Sporting Club's director-in-charge Md Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan , Dhaka South Jubo League president Ismail Chowdhury Samrat,  his associate Enamul Hoque Arman  Kalabagan Krira Chakra President Shafiqul Alam Firoz, alleged online casino kingpin Salim Pradhan, and ward councilor Habibur Rahman Mizan.
