Investigation underway to find who run Bhai’s mini-bar, casino

The department of narcotics control is now investigating to identify who operate the mini-bar and casino that has been discovered in the raid in the house of film producer and businessman Aziz Mohammad Bhai launched on Sunday afternoon.

A huge cache of foreign liquors, marijuana, Shisha materials and casino items were recovered from the mini bar and casino found on the rooftop of his house at Gulshan-2.

Officials of narcotics control department are now questioning two caretakers, Nabin and Parvez, who were detained in the raid.

After the raid at the house of Aziz Mohammad Bhai, Additional Director of the Narcotics Control Department, Mohammad Fazlur Rahman briefed the journalists. The raid was launched om the house at 4pm on Sunday (October 27).

The official said there are two buildings in the house of Aziz Mohammad Bhai. In a flat on its third floor a large stock of alchohol was found. From there a large amount of foreign liquor and Shisha materials were seized. From another flat on the third floor in another building, ten bottles of liquor were recovered. A mini bar was found on the rooftop of the building. There used to be casino with Shisha.

The Additional Director of the Narcotics Control Department said they were counting the amount of foreign liquor seized from these flats. The exact number could be informed after counting.

He also said the mini bar had no license. There is no permission for stocking and selling liquors in this house.

Primarily it is if found that liquors used to be sold here. The two people arrested from the house are being questioned for more details, the official said.

He said we have learned Aziz Mohammed Bhai lives abroad for a long time. His nephew Omar Mohammed Bhai lived in one of the flats here. He had fled the house before the raid. We are trying to arrest him.

The assistant director of Narcotics control also said they were investigating to find out who else were involved.

He also said, "We will certainly take action against his relatives if they are found involved in these illegal businesses"

Responding to the question whether they have got any idea since when the illegal activities had been going on in the house, Fazlur Rahman said this amount of liquor was not stocked just for personal consumption for sure.
