Myanmar has claimed that 46 more displaced Rohingyas have returned home from Bangladesh voluntarily through Taung Pyo Letwe on Thursday (Oct 31).

In a Facebook post, Myanmar Embassy in Dhaka said they reached Nga Khu Ya reception centers and were warmly greeted by officials of departments concerned.

The embassy posted some photos of several people claiming them to be Rohingyas and entering Myanmar.

It said officials of the ministries of foreign affairs, social welfare, relief and resettlement, and labour, population and immigration received the Rohingyas.

Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, however, said the government has no knowledge about the return of the 46 Rohingyas. “We’ll verify the claim,” he said.

According to Myanmar’s claim, 397 displaced Rohingyas have so far returned home from Bangladesh. It also claimed that they were provided with rice, cooking oil and foodstuff monthly by the government.
