Ten day ‘Bangladesh Book Fair’ begins in Kolkata

A ten day book fair styled as ‘Bangladesh Book Fair’ organized collectively by Export Promotion Bureau(EPB), Deputy High Commission of Bangladesh in Kolkata and Bangladesh Gyan and Srijanshil Publishers association have been arranged with only the books of Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Book Fair beginning from November 1 to Nov. 10 is being held at Mohor Kunja just on the opposite of Rabindra Sadan. About 80 creative publishers of Bangladesh is taking part in the fair.

Besides, in the fair stage every evening seminar will be held on subject basis. Cultural entertainment arraignment will be there with the artists of both Bangladesh and West Bengal. Bhasha and Chetana samity of Kolkata is assisting the cultural functions.

Towfiq Hassan, Deputy High Commissioner, press secretary Mofakkharul Iqbal, Shamshul Arif of Commercial branch and Gyan and Srijan Samity president Farid Ahmed on Thursday (Oct.31) in a press conference held at High Commission seminar Hall informed all these.

In the inaugural function Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen will be the chief guest while the Works and City development minister of West Bengal Mr. Firhad Hakim will be the honorary guest.

Besides Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Moazzem Ali, Poet Shankha Ghose and former DG of Bangla Academy professor Shamsuzzaman Khan and notable persons will be present in the function.

The will remain open daily from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M.. On Saturday and Sunday it will remain open till 8-30 P.M. for the book lovers of Kolkata.
