The Anti-Corruption Commission has started grilling Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan, former Jubo League leader who was expelled from the youth front of the ruling party, over illegal operation of casinos in the capital.

ACC officials said a five-member team of the anti-graft watchdog led by its Director Syed Iqbal Hossain started quizzing him after he was taken to the Commission headquarters around 3pm on Monday (Nov 4).

Earlier, a special team of the ACC brought Khaled to Dhaka from the Central Jail in Keraniganj for questioning him for seven days in a case the Commission started against him.

The ACC officials said he will be grilled until 6pm on Monday and then will be kept in the custody of Ramna police.

They said that in the quizzing, Khaled will be asked to divulge the names of those involved in illegal casino operation as well as those who patronized them.

The ACC prosecuted Khaled, former organising secretary of Jubo League’s Dhaka south unit, on Oct 21 for amassing wealth worth Tk 55.81 million illegally.
