Including the infrastructural protection of Ruppur nuclear power plant the Executive Committee of National Economic Council approved 6 projects. The cost of the projects were estimated at Taka 4447 crore 76 lakhs.
The meeting held on Tuesday (Nov. 5) morning in the conference room of Planning ministry at Sher-e- Banglanagar, the meeting was chaired by the Prime Minister and ECNEC chief Sheikh Hasina. After the meeting the Planning minister M.A. Mannan briefed the journalists.
M.A. Mannan said that of the total amount, the government will finance Taka 4439 crore 86 lakh while the rest 7 crore 90 lakh will be financed by the organizations concerned.
It is learnt that Ruppur nuclear power infrastructural protection work is completely a new project. It will cost Taka 3449 crore 5 lakh, which was started in October of current year and will be completed in March of 2023.
The ECNEC meeting was attended by Finance minister AHM Mostofa Kamal, Planning minister M.A. Mannan, Bridges and Road Transport minister Obaidul Kader, Agriculture minister Dr. Abdur Razzaq, Information minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud, Commerce minister Tipu Munshi and others.
The other five approved projects are three projects of Bridges and Road Transport ministry, one project of Civil Aviation & Tourism ministry and another of Water resources ministry.
