Thousands of people attended the third namazj-e- janaza of Sadeque Hossain Khoka, former Mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation, former minister, a valiant freedom fighter and a vice- chairman of BNP at Naya Paltan BNP central office.
After the third namaj- e- janaza held on Thursday (Nov.7) at 2 pm his body was taken to Nagar Bhavan, his long time office.
Earlier his second namaj- e- janaza was held at the South Plaza of the Jatiyo Sangsad at 11 am.
Khoka’s elder son Ishraq Hossain said that, ‘I have come to this compound of Jatiyo Sangsad(JS) for the first time with the mortal remains of my father though my father came here four times as an elected member of JS.’
I express my heartfelt gratitude to you all who have come here to attend the janaza. Your presence proves that my father had a good relation with you all. I give you thanks.
The body of Sadeq Hossain Khoka reached at Hazrat Shahzalal International Airport at 8-26 am by an Emeritus airlines flight. From there his body was taken to JS complex by an ambulance.
It may be mentioned here that Khoka died of Kidney cancer on last Nov. 4 at New York time 1.50 pm while he was under treatment at Manhattan Slwan Catering Cancer center. He had been suffering from cancer for a long time.
