Cyclone Bulbul is rushing towards Bangladesh and West Bengal

The speed of cyclone ‘Bulbul’ originated in the Bay of Bengal has increased. The cyclonic storm is heading towards Southern Bangladesh and West Bengal of India. The intensifying cyclone created such impact that the Met office has instructed the Payara and Mongla sea ports to hoist danger signal no. 10 instead of 7 while Chattogram sea port to hoist danger signal no. 9 instead of cautionary signal no. 6.

Besides, the districts Bhola, Barguna, Patuakhali, Barisal, Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Bagerhat, Khulna and Satkhira also have been asked to hoist danger signal no. 10.

The fishing boats and trawlers have been asked to stay in safe places till further notice is given.

Now the cyclonic storm is 350 kms away from the Bangladesh coast. The speed of the stormy wind is increasing at 130 to 150 Kph.

The cyclonic storm Bulbul at 6 am on Saturday (Nov.9) was staying 525 kms south –west away from Chattogram port, 510 kms south-west from Cox’s Bazar, 350 kms south- west of Mongla port and 375 kms south-west of Payara port. It is likely to move more North-East to West Bengal and Khulna region (the Sundarbans) in the evening and make a land fall in the area.
