Dead body of nine fishermen recovered

A trawler was capsized in the Ilisha River due the ferocity of cyclone ‘bulbul’ causing death to nine fishermen whose bodies were recovered by police from Meghna near Mehendiganj.

The bodies were recovered after evening of Monday (Nov.11) from the Bahadurpur area of Mehendiganj. 

The dead were identified as Md. Kamal Hossain,35 son of late Nurul Hauqe of village Abu Bakarpur of Dularhat police station; Hassan Molla,38 son of Kader Bepary of Nurabad; Nurnabi Bepary, 30; Mafiz Matubbar,35 ; Nazrul Islam Patwary, 38 ; Kabir Hossain, Md.Bellal,32 and Abbas Munshi, 45 of Charfasion police station and Rafik Biswas, 55.

It was confirmed to barta24.com by Sub-Inspector of Mahendiganj police station Kamal. He informed that a trawler was capsized on Monday (Nov. 10) in the Ilisha river. When the trawler reached at the crossing of Machkata and Meghna near Bahadurpur in foliating condition some fishermen informed the local police. Next police recovered the dead bodies. 

Additional police super of Barisal Rakibuddin told barta24.com that on last Sunday (Nov.10) noon a trawler of Tofael Majhi with 24 fishermen capsized being trapped in cyclone bulbul. 13 fishermen were rescued instantly but 11 fishermen were missing. On Sunday night a troupe of Coast Guard recovered the body one fisherman identified as Khorshed Ali, 45. Khorshed was the son of Mozor Ali of Ahmedabad village of Dularhat police station. 

However one fisherman is still missing told the Police official.  Deputy Commissioner of Bhola Mohammad Masud Alam Siddik informed that each family of the dead fisherman will be given Taka 25 thousand for burial purpose.
