A fishing trawler with 15 fishermen is still missing being trapped in the cyclonic storm bulbul when they were fishing near Narkelbaria of the Bay of Bengal on Friday (Nov.8) night. Though four days have elapsed the missing fishermen did not return. It is learnt from Patharghata Fisheries office that the Fisheries department, Coastguard and Naval forces are in search of the missing.
The identities of the missing fishermen are Anowar Sikdar, 40; Sabuj Farazi, 20; Kamal Howladar, 30; Russel Hawladar, 35; Shanu Howladar, 60; Jasim Farazi, 30; Punu Molla,40; Mostofa Farazi, 45 and Jalil Khan, 40 were received but the identity of the rest 6 are still not known.
Talking with the family of missing Kamal it is learnt that Kamal had gone for fishing on last Wednesday (Nov.6) in the deep sea. But they could not return when they were caught in bulbul storm. Since then he is not traced.
President of Barguna district Trawler Owners Association Goloam Mostofa Chowdhury told barta24.com that the missing 15 fishermen had gone for fishing in Narkelbaria of the Bay of Bengal on last Friday (Nov.6) night. But they are still missing.
He further said that three trawlers of the Owners Association are now engaged in tracing them out.
