Dhaka: Salary of government primary school teachers across the country is being increased. Of them the trained and non- trained Headmasters will be getting the pay scale of grade 11 of National pay scale-2015 while the pay structure of trained and non- trained Assistant teachers will be of grade 13.
Informing the enhancement of salary of the teacher, the Finance division has sent letters to the Primary & Mass Education ministry. According to the instructions of the Finance ministry, henceforth all Head teachers will get salary in the grade 11(12500-30230) of National pay scale -2015 while all Assistant teachers will get salary in the grade 1 (11000-26590). With this order the Assistant teachers also have gone one step ahead. Moreover the disparity between the trained and non-trained is removed.
In the existing pay structure the trained Head master is getting salary in grade 11 while the non-trained Head teacher is getting grade 12. In case of trained Assistant teacher belongs to grade 14 and non- trained belongs to grade 15.
It may be mentioned here that the primary school teachers have been carrying on movement for a long time to upgrade their salary (Head teacher grade 10 and Assistant teacher grade 11). Even they threatened to boycott the ensuing Primary School Certificate Examination. To solve the salary disparity the Primary and Mass Education ministry sent letter to the Finance division on last October 28.
