From Jatiyo Sangsad Bhavan: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that we are doing everything for the socio-economic development of the country and will be doing. I don’t know that how much I will give to the country. However, I will say that I have sacrificed my life for the country. I will do everything for the welfare of the people of Bangladesh. I can give my life if necessary like my father.
On Wednesday (Nov.13) afternoon in reply to a supplementary question of treasury bench member Anowarul Abedin Khan the leader of the House told all these.
The Prime Minister said that we have been doing everything for the socio-economic development of the people of the country and will be doing all theses. There was a time when people could not eat even for once a day. This condition prevailed just 10/11 years back. Now see the condition of the people. That situation does not prevail now.
She said that today I have inaugurated the cent percent electrification of 23 upazillas along with inaugurating 7 new power generation centers through video conferencing. One sister of a remote village told me that she works in beautification and now the electricity will help her in earnings and ensuring self -reliance. It gave me much pleasure that in a remote village the beautification work is done. It became possible due to my steps taken for generating electricity, she added.
In reply to another supplementary question the Premier said that there are some sick industries but cannot be restarted despite repeated attempts. Alternative arrangements are being taken for those, she informed.
