The tax return of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been submitted on the first day of the weeklong income tax fair organised by the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
Former Income Tax Commissioner Siddiqur Hossain Chowdhury submitted the return on behalf of the prime minister at the fair on Officers’ Club premises around 9am on Thursday (Nov 14). NBR Chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the prime minister’s return submission to Barta24.com.
This year’s is the 10th income tax fair being held in eight divisional headquarters, 64 district towns and 56 upazilas simultaneously. The slogan of this year’s fair is ‘We all will pay tax, the country will be self-reliant’.
The income tax fair at the Officers’ Club saw a huge rush of people on the first day.
There are 53 help desks, a 250-square feet e-TIN zone, 52 return booths, four bank desks, two ATM booths, a media centre and a medical centre at the fair.
The NBR has launched a website – www.aikor.gov.bd – from where anyone can know the places of tax fairs, their distance and time.
