The government is planning to launch a web portal and a mobile application for identifying spurious medicines and checking the retail prices of drugs.
Health Minister Zahid Maleque said at Parliament on Thursday (Nov 14) that a project to this end under the PMO’s Access to Information (a2i) programme is at the piloting stage now.
State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain replied to questions on behalf of the health minister in his absence.
The Parliament session began around 4:30pm with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
According to information provided to the lawmakers, it is mandatory to print the retail price of any medicine registered with the Directorate of Drug Administration.
