Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has said the cleansing operation that the party has begun to drive away bad elements is going on.
“Operation is on to drive away weeds, parasites and intruders from the party,” he said while speaking at a function to hand over BRTC buses to eight educational institutions, in the capital on Sunday (Nov 24).
Quader, also the road transport and bridges minister, said leaders of clean image have been chosen to lead the five associate organisations of the Awami League whose councils have been held recently.
“A clean-image person has been elected chairman of Jubo League unopposed. He is an academician and educated person. We hope he’ll be working for bringing back the glory of Jubo League,” he said.
Talking about the BNP, the Awami League general secretary said they cannot wage any movement against the government as they have become a failure party.
