Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport & Bridges minister Obaidul Quader warned the activists of Awami League that if you show unnecessary prowess, then you will be made powerless.
Addressing the workers and leaders he said, ‘Dear brothers and sisters you are with us in good time. But this good time may not last long. Power does not stay with any body for long time. One day it will go. So do not show prowess. Be polite. Maintain simple life. See dreams and try to show dreams to others.’
On Tuesday (Nov.26) he told all these while addressing as the chief guest in the triennial conference of City and district Awami League here at Rangpur Public Library ground in the afternoon.
Bridges minister said, don’t make groupings in the party. Don’t build house within house. Don’t fill up the committees with your kith and kin. If the dedicated workers are cornered then Awami League will not last. If you want to keep Bangladesh alive then you must keep Awami League alive. The spirit of liberation war, democracy and development will stay if Awami League remains in power.
He urged the new comers to come to Awami League instead not turn your faces for the on going cleansing drives. I invite you to join Awami League. The doors of Awami League are open to the educated, persons with clean image and good people. So long Sheikh Hasina is with Awami League, this country will develop. Prosperity will come in the country.
The conference chaired by the acting president of Rangpur district Awami League Momtazuddin Ahmed, central committee joint secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak was the main speaker.
Central Committee joint secretary Abdur Rahman, organizing secretary BM Mojammel Haque, Finnace and Planning affairs secretary Tipu Munshi, International affairs secretary Dr. Shammi Ahmed, Ahsanul Haque Chowdhury Duke MP, Mahmud Hassan Ripon, former president of the central committee of Chattra League addressed as the special guests.
Besides, general secretary of Rangpur district Awami League Rezaul Karim Razu and city unit president Shafiar Rahman Shafi also spoke in the conference. City unit general secretary Tushar Kanti Mondol conducted the conference.
