The outlawed militant organization Jamatul Mujahedin Bangladesh (JMB)’s one of the top leaders is Salauddin Salehin. According to the information of the law enforcing agencies, this militant leader is hiding in India fore the last six years. He has been operating their activities in Bangladesh from his hideout in India. He has been giving necessary directives through their own invented secret mobile apps.

The officers of Counter Terrorism & Transnational Crime Unit (CTTC) of police got such information from JMB leaders Abu Raihan Mahmud alias Abdul Hadi, Habibur Rahman Chan Mia and Razibur Rahman arrested from Bhatara area of the capital recently. CTTC chief DIG Manirul Islam told barta24.com that, ‘One Raihan was arrested from Bhatara is the brother in law of Salauddin Salehin. Salehin in 2017 announced Raihan as Amir of JMB of Bangladesh chapter.  He was also given some responsibilities.’

This police official told that, Raihan had regular contacts with Salehin through mobile apps. The detailed instructions were sent from India by Salehin about how the organization will run, how it will be financed and about how new people would be recruited.

On February 26, 2014 one police man was killed after sudden attack on a police van in Trishal of Mymenshing. The JMB attackers snatched away Salehin, Bomb Mizan and three other militants. Next Salehin and Bomb Mizan fled to India. Mizan was arrested in Bengaluru of India last year. But Salehin is still hiding.

In 2005 more than 40 cases were filed against Salehin on charge of countrywide series bomb explosion. Of these cases, he was convicted in 13 cases including death sentence in three cases.

When asked to Dhaka City CTTC chief DIG Manirul Islam said that JMB leader Salehin who was awarded death sentence in three cases is hiding in India but where that could not be known.
