Media professional Imran Kadir has been elected as the president of the Dhaka North chapter of Junior Chamber International (JCI) for the 2020 term.
The executive committee of the chamber was formed at its annual general meeting held recently at a hotel in the capital, said a media statement of JCI.
The general meeting also elected Fatima Akther Naz as executive vice-president, Nahida Akther and Abdul Malek Tushar vice-presidents and Raihatul Jannah secretary general for the term.
Other office bearers elected are Parvez Ahmed (legal counsel), Shakhawat Hossain (treasurer) and Ziaur Rahman, Shafaq Hussain and Mohammad Anisul Islam (director).
The release said Imran is a media professional, currently working at a newspaper. He is also associated with few startup ventures and a global advisor to Kathmandu-based Global Youth Parliament.
While exchanging views after his election, Imran said JCI always works for creating potential youth leadership, women empowerment, sustainable environment, mental health and wellbeing of people.
