Four death sentence awardees including principal Sirajuddowla filed appeal seeking acquittal from hanging. Another three are Nuruddin, Jabed Hossain and Umme Sultana Popy.
On Monday (Dec.2) lawyer Jamiul Haque Faisal submitted the appeal in the High Court in favor of those four convicted.
On last October 24 the Child and Women Repression prevention tribunal of Feni delivered verdict of death sentence to principal Sirajuiddowla and 15 others along with a fine of Taka one lakh each in the sensational case of the murder Nusrat JahanRafi, a Feni Madrasha student.
The file of the death reference reached the High Court on last October 29.
