Dhaka: The three day Ceramic Expo-2019 is going on at Bashundhara International Convention center with the display and sale of local and imported ceramic products organized by Bangladesh Ceramic Manufacturers and Exporters Association.
There was huge rush on Friday (Dec.6), the second day of the exhibition. 150 outlets of 20 countries including Bangladesh are participating in this exhibition with their attractive products. There were many domestic use products, machineries products, sanitary fittings along with varieties of ceramic products were brought in the exhibition. Various kinds of tiles are also available here.
As there are chances of placing orders the local and foreign entrepreneurs are also showing interests. The local businessmen think that though there is demand of exportable ceramic wares abroad but due to want of quality raw materials they are lagging behind. However, they think that the foreign market is now expanding.
The visitors and the purchasers in the expo think that this exhibition will help project the Bangladesh ceramic wares to the outside world. Vidress, Bangladesh Executive Director Abu Rakib Mohammad Saiduzzaman said that as the 90 percent raw materials of ceramic are imported so this industry is import dependent. However, if we can harmonize the changing taste of the people then we can achieve some positive result both in erxport and fulfill the local demand.
Managing Director of X ceramics Mahin bin Mazhar said that this years’ arrangement is the biggest so far. More varieties have come in this expo. Tiles industry, sanitary wares and various ceramic products are available this year.
To increase the attraction of the local products regular seminar is going on here. The exhibition is open from 10 morning to evening 7 every day.
