Naryanganj: One passenger was killed, 20 others injured and 15 others were missing when two passenger launches collided head on in river Meghna near Charkishoreganj area of Naryanganj. The dead was identified as Humayun Banduksi.
The launch accident occurred at 1 am of Friday (6) night when there was a head on collision between Chandpur bound Bogdadia -13 from Dhaka and Dhaka bound Manik -4 from Shariatpur.
The dead Humayun Banduksi was the son of Abdul of Rambhadrapur of Bhedraganj upazilla under Shariatpur district.
Kalagachia River Police Outpost in charge Md. Mostafik informed that the river police has taken preparation for rescue operation. The place of accident is covered by thick fog causing hamper to rescue operation. However, none was arrested so far in this connection.
