Prime Minister said that ‘Occasionally I Enjoy Bengali dramas on TV. In the dramas of other country, there are completions of sarees, ornaments or familial hitches but Bangladeshi dramas are simply excellent. In each of our drama there is a touch of live which is undoubtedly best.’
She was speaking as the Chief Guest while distributing the National Film awards of 2017 & 2018 to the winners on Sunday (Dec.8) held at the Hall of Fame of Bangabandhu International conference center.
Prime Minister said that ‘When I go abroad by plane, I enjoy cinema there during journey. I feel so good for the nice films so I give thanks to the people of the films.’
She said that, ‘We have done a lot for development of film industry in the country. More are in the pipeline of our government. We have lost cinema goers. We have taken initiatives how the cinema goers can be brought back to halls. The cinema halls have to be made digital in the district and upazilla levels. We are to move with the speed of the time. Now the purchase capacity of the people has increased. They should be given time befitting entertainment.’
After distribution of awards the Prime Minister congratulated all the winners. The function was chaired by Information Minister Dr. Hassan Mahmud. Information State Minister DR. Murad Hassan and President of the parliamentary standing committee Hasanul Haque Inu were the special guests. Information secretary Abdul Malek delivered the address of welcome. DG of BTV was the convener of the preparatory committee.
