Bollywood megastar and heartthrob of millions Salman Khan, who flew here on Sunday Dec.8) by personal jet plane to perform in the opening ceremony of Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL), paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib has made Bangladesh. He is the Father of the Nation, Salman said in his brief speech at the end of the inaugural function of the BBPL, the special edition of BPL T20 to mark the birth centenary of Bangabandhu.

Salman Khan along with another Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif appeared together at the colorful stage at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium here on Sunday night before their last performance.

Salman Khan congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the occasion of the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation. He also mentioned the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, saying she was elected the prime minister for the third consecutive time.

About Sheikh Hasina bollywood superstar Salman said that, ‘Bangladesh people loved her so much as she was elected Prime Minister for consecutive three terms. Salman said that sheher name is only Hasina (beautiful) but she is really beautiful in her behavior, mind having many virtues we are charmed at her personality. She is the best personality of Bangladesh.’

Salman Khan also referred to the name of Bangladesh’s National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. About Kazi Nazrul Salman said that his father Selim Khan told him that ‘when you will go upon the stage, one man’s name you must take he us poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.. my father is a big fan of Nazrul Islam and read most of his poems, Salman said.’

Katrina Kaif in her address thanked the BBPL organizers for inviting them in the opening ceremony of the tournament and showed interest to come to Bangladesh again.

Both Salman and Katrina pointed out their meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina during the opening ceremony of the BBPL. “It was a wonderful moment for us,” they said.

They ended their speech uttering the slogan “Joy Bangla” and “Joy Bangabandhu”.
