International Anti-Corruption day observed in Faridpur

As a part of the global program, International Day against Corruption was observed here at Faridpur on Monday(Dec.9) in a befitting manner through holding rally, discussion meeting and a concert abhorring corruption from the society. 

A colorful rally led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar paraded main through fares of the town followed by discussion meeting and concert.   

District Integrated Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Faridpur district administration TIB, Faridpur chapter and Sachentan Nagrak Committee(SANAK) jointly organized the program with the object of creating awareness among the masses particularly among the young generation.

This time the discussion meeting was held in the open space at premises of DC office. The discussion meeting was chaired by Prof. Md. Shahjahan, president of district corruption prevention committee while DC Atul sarkar was the chief guest. Deputy Director of District Integrated Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Abul Kalam Azad was the special guest.

DC Atul Sarkar stressed on engaging comprehensive efforts of all concerned to create adequate awareness among the common people particularly among the young generation to launch an effective social movement for building a corruption-free society. He

called upon everybody to begin the campaign from own home and bring up the next generations with all human virtues, qualities and patriotic zeal for ultimately building a society free from the social disease.

“We have to develop habit of telling the truth as telling a lie is also corruption," he said putting emphasis on disseminating anti-corruption sentiment among the common people, students and young generations, to build a corruption-free society.

In his concluding speech, DD Abul Kalam Azad stressed on creating a changed social mindset to ultimately build a corruption free society as prevention of corruption was not possible only through filing cases and punishing the corrupts. The rally and discussion meeting was attended by ADC (Gen), Roksana Rahman, ADC(Revenue) Md. Aslam Molla, UNO (Sadar) Md. Masum Reza and committee secretary Md. Hasanuzzaman.
