Dr Hasan Mahmud and AFM Bahauddin Nasim have been elected joint general secretaries of the ruling Awami League.
Newly elected President of the party announced their names at the second session of its two-day 21st national council at the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh in the capital on Saturday (Dec 21).
With the new two, the party has now four joint general secretaries. The two others are Mahbub-Ul Alam Hanif and Dr Dipu Moni.
Sheikh Hasina also announced that Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, BM Muzammel Haque, Ahmed Hossain, SM Kamal Hossain and Mirza Azam were elected organising secretaries.
The party chief inaugurated the two-day council of the Awami League at Suhrawary Udyan on Friday (Dec 20) afternoon.
