A case has been filed against Dhaka University Central Students’ Union Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur under the Digital Security Act on charge of spreading ‘false information’ about the president and general secretary of the DU unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student front of the ruling Awami League.

Dhanmondi police began the case based on a complaint lodged by BCL Jagannath hall unit Publicity Secretary Arnab Hore, the police station’s Officer-in-charge Humayun Kabir told Barta24.com on Saturday (Dec 28).

“Arnab Hore lodged the written complaint on Thursday (Dec 26). The case has been filed based on the complaint after reviewing it,” he said.

Hore told Barta24.com that Nur spread false information about the BCL DU unit president and general secretary through his verified Facebook page.

“I lodged a complaint with Dhanmondi police station about the matter. Police later informed me that they have filed the case on Saturday morning,” he said.
