A new school & college styled as ‘District Administration School & College (English Version) was inaugurated on Wednesday (Jan.1) morning here in this town coinciding the country wide ‘book festival’.
The inaugural function held at the premises of the school was chaired by Principal of the school Farhad Hossain while Deputy Commissioner(DC) of Faridpur Atul Sarkar was the chief guest.
Amid huge enthusiasm and vibrancy at the presence of kid students and their female guardians DC Atul Sarkar hoisted the National flag with national anthem. Atul Sarkar also released the inaugural festive balloons in the sky.
Addressing the function Atul Sarkar said to ensure quality education in order to face the challenges of 21st century the district administration has set up this school. However, the infrastructure of the school & college is still at the primary stage and hope that one day it will be a big and challenging institution of this area to cater to the needs of the time, he said.
Atul Sarkar expressed gratitude on behalf of the district administration to Senior politician of the country and local MP Engineer Khondoker Mosharraf Hossan, his predecessor former DC Umme Salma Tanzia and local donors who contributed for the establishment of this unique school.
The inaugural function was addressed among others by DD of Local Government Md. Maniruzzaman, ADC (Gen) Roksana Rahman, district Awami League president Advocate Subal Saha, Principal Musharraf Ali, Principal Sultan Mahmud, Principal Shila Rani Mondol, Retired Principal Md. Shahjahan, Prof. Rezvi Zaman and Principal Akhtari Jahan Boby.
Later on the DC distributed new books among the students of the school.
