Momen sent directives to Missions abroad to observe ‘Mujib Barsho’

Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen has sent directives to Bangladesh mission abroad to observe Mujib Barsho with due solemnity. On Tuesday (Dec.31) in the letters sent to heads of the Bangladesh Missions Dr. Momen gave directives to observe the great occasion Mujib Barsho with the participation of the host countries, civil society members and  the expatriate Bangladeshis. 

Dr. Momen mentioned in the letter that to observe the Barsho is not only a formality but as a nation we will be showing regards to the Father of the Nation, founder of the country Bangabnandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who gave us an identity as a proud Bangalee. 

The foreign minister also mentioned that Mujib Barsho observance is also a great opportunity to show the external world about our unprecedented dev elopement in recent time.  

Dr. Momen mentioned that in the current year that we have achieved the GDP of 8.15% which will be 10 percent soon on an average. During last ten years the GDP has increased by 188 percent, per capita income has increased by 3.5 times and which is now 2000 US dollars. At present our GDP is 302 billion dollars which was only 102 billion dollars in 2009. Export earnings have increased by 3.5 times and has sized above 40.53 billion US dollars.
