Financially BNP’s Tabith is sound than AL’s Atiq

Among the two heavy weight candidates in the upcoming DNCC polls, AL’s Atiqul Islam has a personal debt of Taka 98 lakh 89 thousand while the BNP candidate Tabith has no loan.

These information were collected from the affidavits submitted to the Returning Officer (RO) of DNCC election.

BNP nominated Tabith Awal is the owner of 37 establishments. In the affidavit he mentioned his income as Taka 4 crore 12 lakh 73 lakh annually. As source of income he showed agriculture/ houses/ shops/ and other rents, business, share/savings certificates/ profits from the banks, job and other heads.

The estimated value of his movable properties is Taka 45 crore 60 lakh 8 thousand. The immovable properties included 4.24 acres of farm land, 16.48 acres of non- farming land, 56 acres of other types of land. He has also two apartments measuring 924 square feet and 1043 square feet.

Loan amounting to Taka 302.45 crore have been taken from several banks in the name of his business establishments but there is no case against him. His academic qualification is MSc.

On the other hand AL nominated candidate Md. Atiqul Islam has mentioned business as his profession in the affidavit. He is the chief of 16 business establishments. His annul income, he mentioned as Taka 1 crore 29 lakh 68 thousand. He mentioned agriculture, business, houses or rent from apartments, fisheries and bank interest as the sources of income.

His movable properties are of worth Taka 4 crore 86 lakh 69 thousand and immovable properties worth Taka 13 crore 97 lakh 92 thousand, he mentioned. He has a personal loan of Taka 98 lakh 89 thousand in IFIC bank while there is a loan of Taka 591 crore 6 lakh in the name of business establishments. Of these loans Taka 186 crore 62 lakh funded and non – funded Taka 244 crore 64 lakhs in IFIC bank. He has loans in Eastern Bank Ltd funded 47 crore 29 lakh and non- funded 13 crore 9 lakh and in Shahjalal Islami bank 26 crore 15 lakh funded and Taka 73 crore 25 lakh non- funded loans.

Atiqul Islam is a graduate in Commerce. There is no case against him.

In the mayoral race of DNCC, the Jatiyo Party nominated candidate GM Kamrul is a retired army officer. His educational qualification is MPhil.

Now he is a business man. He has a business establishments titled as ATS Solution. His annual income is Taka 21 lakh. As movable properties he has a deposit of Taka 20 lakh in the bank. He has transports, electronic goods and furniture worth taka 1.12 crore, he mentioned in his affidavit.

As immovable properties he has 8 bighas of farm land and 7 kathas of non-farm land. He has a building worth Taka 7 crore. He has no financial liabilities. He never faced any case.
