CID police have arrested two fugitive brothers Enamul Haque alias Enu Bhuiyan and Rupan Bhuiyan, accused of in the Motijheel casino case.
The CID police arrested them on Monday (Jan. 13) at noon. Additional Superintendent of Police, Farooq Hossain confirmed the matter to barta24.com.
In October last year, in the anti-casino drive the law enforcers seized Taka 17 lakh 16 thousand 300 and confiscated 5163 grams of gold ornaments worth Taka 2.50 crore from his house.
The ACC filed two separate cases against Gandaria thana Awami League vice president Enamul Haque and his brother Thana Awami League joint general secretary Rupan Bhuiyan. There are also several cases filed against them by law and order agencies.
According to the case, it is said that through illegal trade and illicit activities, they earned Taka 21 crore 89 lakh 43 thousand beyond his known sources of income. In earning illegal income he was assisted by Wanderers club employee Abul Kalam and Enamul's friend Harun ar Rashid.
Rupan Bhuiyan has also anonymously acquired illicit income of Taka 14 crore 12 lakh 95 thousand 882 through various illegal trades and illegal activities beyond his known sources of income for dishonest purposes.
