‘Attack on Tabith should be investigated by EC seriously’- Quader

Bangladesh Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges minister Obaidul Quader commented that the EC should seriously consider the attack on BNP Mayoral candidate Tabitha Awal in the Dhaka North City Corporation election. He also asked the EC to give attention so that such incidents do not recur in future for the sake of fair election.

He made the comments while visiting the Link road-Labani Point four lane while replying to a question of a reporter's question on Wednesday (Jan. 22) at 9:30 am.

He said the government is actively looking into the Rohingya issue. Initiatives will be taken to the repatriation of the Rohingya as soon as possible. The government is continuing to put diplomatic pressure on Myanmar for that purpose.

Awami League general secretary said, now the BNP has got the title of complaint party in the field of politics. They just go to the foreign diplomats and complain against the government. Losing public support, they are now bankrupt.

Also present during the visit were Cox's Bazar Sadar-Ramu MP Syamum Sarwar Kamal, MP of Maheshkhali-Kutubdia MP Ashek Ullah Rafiq, Reserved seat MP Kaniz Fatema Ahmed, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner. Kamal Hossain, Superintendent of Police ABM Masud Hossain, Zila Parishad Chairman Mostak Ahmed, district Awami League president advocate Sirajul Mostafa, general secretary and municipal mayor Mujibur Rahman.
