Leading popular news portal Risingbd.com awards best contributors

Risingbd.com, the country's leading and popular online news portal awarded their best reporter, District Correspondents and best writer (campus, feature) for the months of November and December(2019).

Crest and cash were handed over to the recipients at a function at Risingbd's own office in Mirpur on Wednesday(Jan.22) afternoon.

Editor-in-Chief of the top multimedia news portal and forerunner of on line news media in the country Alamgir Hossain was the chief guest in the function while SM Zahid Hassan, Publisher of Risingbd, Advisory Editor Uday Hakim, Monitoring Advisor Feroze Alam, Editor Nowsher Ali, Feature Editor Tapas Roy, Administrative Officer Milton Ahmed were the special guests. Risingbd's senior assistant editor Ibnul Qayyum Soni conducted the function.

Editor-in-Chief Alamgir Hossain said: "Journalism is a place of hard work. Anyone who can work hard will succeed." 

"It's very difficult to build an organization," he said. "However, if you own the organization it will sustain with glory. Walton is one of the top companies in Bangladesh. I hope Risingbd, like Walton, will go to a good position."

Risingbd publisher SM Zahid Hasan said, "Journalism is not a profession or intoxication. Love for journalism. If not, then you will not be able to survive. It must be sustained through work in journalism. It has to be taken as a profession."

Uday Hakim, Advisory Editor of Risingbd, said: "By the word media, we mean something negative. There is nothing positive. But we had a purpose; we would look at everything positively. We do not write against anyone. No one can say we wrote against anyone."

Risingbd Monitoring Advisor Feroz Alam said, "I see a lot of talented faces. Today's event is for talented faces to encourage writing. Congratulations to those who have received the award."

In November, Ahmed Noor received the Best Reporter Award for his article titled "Is air pollution going to a state of emergency?' Tapas Roy has received the award for best sub-editor for editing a report on 'rare talent of blind artist Rajiv."

Tanvir Hasan received the best district correspondent (Jhenaidah) award for his report titled "Classmates' grandmother". Dipankar Gautam won the best writer award for writing "Declaration of Independence of Manipur and India-Pakistan Politics."

Aminul Islam Shanta has received the best writer's award for his article entitled "Had much sensitiveness to my father: Anal Raihan". In addition, Jewell Mamun has been awarded the Best campus writer award for writing 'Crisis in the University  and some comments + RU convocation in photography'.

In December, Mamun Khan received the best reporter's award for the headline report "Children’s education stopped as their mother was in jail". Taslima Parveen Bulaki received the award for best sub-editor for editing the report titled "Brinagana living on cleaning".

Basu Das also received the Best District Correspondent (Bandarban) Award for his report titled 'Catching fish in the river after pouring poison in the river'. Shahidul Islam has received the best writer award for writing the title of 'Chest filling courage of small country Gambia.'

Milton Ahmed has been honored with the best feature writer's award for his writing "One Day at  Baker Hostel full of memories of Bangabandhu".

Ashrafi Diba also received the best campus writer award for writing 'One day in search of Lalon’.
