‘Government is firm to establish rule of law in the country’- Home Minister

From JS Bhavan: The present government is firm to safeguard the lives and properties of the people of the country. The government is firmly committed to establish the rule of law through eliminating corruption, terrorism, militancy and drug menace. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said law enforcers are working tirelessly through mutual coordination.

On Sunday afternoon (Feb. 2) in the Jatiyo Sangsad session presided over by Dr. Shirin Shramin Chowdhury the Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said this in reply to a written question put by the treasury bench MP Mohammad Ebadul Karim.

The Minister said illegal weapons were being recovered through regular and special operations carried on by the law enforcers based on intelligence reports. Necessary steps are being taken to maintain communal harmony and social stability whenever there is an evil attempt by some quarters through propagating rumors and misleading information. In addition, legal action is being taken against the perpetrators and planners of terrorist activities.

The Home Minister also said that an Anti Terrorism Unit has already been set up to eliminate / prevent terrorist / militant activities. The CTTC is conducting regular operations through intelligence gathered on terrorists. With the help of CC cameras and with the help of information technology in the important places, the activities of criminal detection and enforcement are underway.
