Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President Md. Abdul Hamid congratulated Bangladesh team for becoming the first ever champion by defeating India by 3 wickets in the Under-19 World Cup final.
The information came from the Prime Minister and the President's Press Wing on Sunday (Feb. 9).
In a message, the President congratulated all the players, coaches, managers and all concerned. He hoped that this trend of winning will continue in the future.
The Prime Minister said, keeping in mind the spirit of this player, this way our cricket will go further in future.
Bangladesh U-19 cricket team became the finalist of the dream world cup after defeating New Zealand by 6 wickets at Pachefestrum in South Africa last Thursday (Feb. 6). In a congratulatory message from Milan, Italy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘My sincere congratulations to all of you (the cricket team). I am so happy that you have brought honor to the country’.
