The services governor of Bangladesh Bank Fazle Kabir has been extended. Under the new agreement, he will serve as governor till July 3, 2020.
A notification to this effect has been issued from the Public Administration Ministry on Sunday (Feb. 16).
In the notification signed by deputy secretary of the ministry Md. Oliuer Rahman, states that Fazle Kabir, the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, was in accordance with Order 10 (5) of Bangladesh Bank Order 1972 on March 20, 2020 or his joining contract with Bangladesh Bank until his completion of 65 years from the date of joining (July 3, 2020). The contractual appointment was again given to the Governor. In this contract-based appointment, the terms and conditions of the contract should be re-signed and the agreement with the government must be executed.
On March 16, 2016 Fazle appointed Kabir was appointed as the governor of Bangladesh Bank for four years. Fazle Kabir joined as the 11th Governor of Bangladesh Bank. Fazle Kabir’s job was supposed to expire on March 20 this year. However, he will continue as governor till July 3 due to his re-appointment.
