Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, I express my gratitude to the people of Bangladesh. They have voted for me again and again. They have given me the opportunity to serve them.
She said this at a discussion meeting organized by Bangladesh Awami League on Saturday (Feb. 22) to observe the great Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day - 2020.
The Prime Minister said, "We are going to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation who gave us the independence. We have announced Mujib Borsho from 2020 to 2021. We will celebrate the golden jubilee of independence in 2021.
We are an independent nation, she said. Bangladesh Awami League is in power now. We have been moving forward economically remaining in power for a decade. Bangladesh is now a role model of development. No one can ignore Bangladesh now.
The head of the government said, by 2021 we will lit light in every house of the country. A person in Bangladesh will not remain homeless. Those who lost their homes in the river erosion will get their homes soon. We will build such Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty.
